Born in Wales, Tom is most famous for having played witty, sharp, charming and ambitious forensic pathologist Harry Cunningham in BBC series Silent Witness.
He read Philosophy, Politics and Economics at Lincoln College, Oxford. He joined the drama society, and subsequently decided to pursue acting as a career.
He has since built up an impressive list of credits including Vanity Fair, Pride & Prejudice, The Lost World, Red Cap, Anna Karenina, Midsomer Murders, Hawking, Death in Paradise, Doctor Who and the film Quills.
Tom is a keen horseman and enjoys polo. He is also an experienced stage fighter and has fenced for Great Britain.
He is married to journalist Emily Hohler and they have three children.
